The screen measures over 12 feet laid out flat with eight panels covered with lacquer, incised and painted with natural color pigments. The scene has a small border depicting stylized dragons. The panels are supported by straight legs with patinated brass clad feet. The reverse side depicts a large ancient tree with spring blossoms and a Chinese script signature.
